The Peace Arch crossing connects Surrey, BC with Blaine, WA, where BC Highway 99 meets Interstate 5. CBSA calls it Douglas, so “Peace Arch” and “Douglas crossing” are the same place. It is open 24 hours a day, every day, and is the busiest crossing between BC and Washington.

Open 24/7. Passenger vehicles only — trucks must use the Pacific Highway crossing one mile east. NEXUS lanes run into Canada roughly 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Best times to cross
Early weekday mornings are quietest. Traffic builds through midday and stays heavy until about 6 p.m.; on weekends it peaks later, 6 to 10 p.m.
What affects waits
Long weekends, holidays and major events. The crossing also closes briefly one Sunday each June for the Hands Across the Border event.
Nearby alternatives
Pacific Highway (1 km east, allows trucks), then Aldergrove and Sumas further inland.
